Etherification
Fuel Ethers: MTBE, ETBE, TAME and TAEE.
TREVERLYST catalysts have been developed to assure the highest conversion rates at the lowest temperatures possible.
Depending on the reactor configuration special screen cuts of the CHEMRA catalysts can be provided. For reactive distillation reactions the catalyst might be packed in bales or cages.
Etherification
One of the most popular solvents is MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether) or its counterpart ETBE (ethyl tertiary butyl ether) where methanol is replaced by bioethanol.
Fuel ethers are blended into the gasoline pool as antiknock agent. Other fuel ethers are ETBE, TAME and TAEE.
